"As the Director of Basketball at The Scots College, I would like to take this opportunity to write a recommendation for Remy Davis Warrington. Remy has been a valuable member of The Scots College and in particular the Scots College basketball program since 2014. During his time at Scots Remy has made a significant contribution throughout the community as both a student and an athlete. For the past 9 years, Remy has expressed great leadership and commitment to the Scots College Basketball Program. He has represented our Senior Firsts & Seconds Basketball teams for the past 5 seasons in which we have seen him grow and develop significantly through a commitment towards his training and personal development. Our senior program has just come off a number of very successful seasons both on and off the court, where Remy has cemented himself as one of the league-leading players. Most recently Remy led his team as the starting point guard to a near undefeated season where he was selected as a member of the combined AAGPS Firsts Basketball Team. Further to this, Remy is a great student who has embedded himself in College life staying true to the College’s core values of servant leadership and committing to excellence. The leadership Remy has shown through various departments and domains of the school has highlighted his compassion, dedication and high standard of service throughout his time here at The Scots College." - Steven White, Director Basketball The Scots College
"Remy, In the time that I have known you, you have matured drastically on and off the court. Your maturity is beyond your years but the three things that stands out about you are: Work ethic- when you become fixated on something, you put your heart and soul into it and if you continue with that type of commitment to your crafts you’re gonna go places Determination- no matter what, nothing will stand in the way of what you want to achieve and that is the type of trait you need to succeed in this world. Detail- your attention to detail is something I haven’t seen from someone your age in the 11 years I’ve been coaching and it is what separates you from others and makes you different and trust me being different is good. I wish you all the best and if you ever need anything you know where to find me. Good luck and show the world the great young man you were born to be and only make smart decisions that will help you get to where you want to go" - Harry Fotopoulos, Director of Basketball Knox Grammar School
"Remy Davis-Warrington is firstly foremost a hard worker who constantly is looking to work on his game and has a very high working motor. One aspect to note is that he works on the little areas that he will need to elevate his game as he faces better competition after recognising them with his coaches/trainers, which speaks volumes about him being very coachable. He also possesses high point guard IQ which encompasses his ability to lead by action and example for his team and is very dependable as a point guard to lead each play. Overall, Remy is a very good basketball player and will be great because of his hard working motor, coachable trait, and his IQ and leadership." - Yoshi Ikeuchi, Representative Assistant Coach
"When I watch Remy play I see a basketball player that can do it all but more importantly willing and able to do anything for the team to succeed. While his natural skill comes through in his play, what I notice is the result of determination, passion and work ethic. It reminds me of a quote, “The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” Remy has always worked hard and dedicated himself to develop his skills. Because of that his game stands out and his success is a result of it. I have no doubt Remy will continue to refine his game and apply the same work ethic he has in the past." - Fraser Sterling, Representative Coach
"Remy is the hardest working basketballer I've coached and I don't just throw that phase around. From when I first met him, he constantly faced adversity and had to always prove himself to those around him. I think he knows how to adapt to any environment he's in. I know he'll take on any challenge that's in front of him no matter the difficulty cause that's just who he is, whatever chance he gets to improve in one way or another, he'll take it. I don't need to say keep your head up or keep looking forward cause he already knows it, he's a full-blooded baller." - Liam Cavanagh-Downs, Representative Coach and Sydney Kings NBL Intern
"It is a pleasure to watch Remy play. To hear players on my team talk about how they need to try to stop Remy, or how hard it will be to stop him, to hear them tell me that we need to ‘Box and one’ him. When he steps on the court he instantly impacts the game and he should be so, so proud of the way he does it. With intensity, with hard work, defence, rebounding, motivating and inspiring his teammates, plus 100 intangible things that even the most experienced coaches can’t quite put their finger on.. a kind of x-factor.. a super power! Of course he now scores plenty of points too. I would never down play the importance of that but it is the combination of all of these that makes him so, so rare... and special! I Look forward to watching Remy change many more games in the future. This is a quality that now exists deep inside of him. The fire that has been ignited inside of you, will endure forever! Game changer! " - Daniel Fischer, CEO Step Up Basketball
"Remy is one of the key contributors to his team, and in the state wide competition, is more often than not one of the better players on the court. Remy also represents the Norths basketball association in the 3x3 basketball format on a national stage regularly, where he again performs at a high level consistently. In terms of Remy’s character, he is a young person that I am very proud to have represent the club. What stands out most about Remy is his tireless work ethic. Over the course of several years, Remy has developed considerably, and I believe this is in large part due to his drive to train and compete every day and be the best he can be. He is a very respectful individual, that always takes the time to say hello and express his gratitude to coaches and volunteers. I believe Remy’s future in basketball is largely up to him. He has shown that he has the drive to push himself to be the best he can be, and values team work, attention to detail and is grateful for his opportunities to compete and develop. In my experience, these traits often lend themselves to success within an individual’s athletic career within the sporting landscape, and being that Remy demonstrates them daily, I am confident he will put himself in a good position for future successes." - Thomas Garlepp, Director Basketball St Ignatius Riverview College, ex Sydney Kings player
